Summer School 2021

Summer School Locations
  • Elementary Schools - Rancho Romero, Golden View or Live Oak

  • Middle School - Iron Horse Middle School

  • High School - San Ramon Valley High School

  • Extended School Year (ESY) Students will attend all five campuses.
General Information

This summer, SRVUSD will be offering  in-person summer school for students going into grades 1-12 next year.   Students were referred for participation by teachers and school sites.  Students who were recommended received a communication from the SRVUSD with enrollment details.

Students entering grades 1-8 who were not recommended for summer school were given the opportunity to request summer school.

The focus of Summer School will be on ELA and math.  There will also be opportunities for students to engage in classroom activities that prepare them for in-person learning on a school site.

An online academic support option will be available for students who are identified as needing summer school, but who are unable to commit to attending in person.

For more information about our Summer School program, please contact the summer school principal.

Class Times/Attendance

Students will attend five days per week for approximately four hours/day, depending on the program (see schedule below).

We strongly discourage students from missing any days of summer school due to the compressed timeline.  However, we know this is not always possible so we have instituted the following policy:

  • Students can miss up to 2 days

  • Students who miss more than the allotted number of days may be dropped from the course.

  • Any work assigned during a student's absence is the student's responsibility to make up.

  • First day of class: All students must attend first day of the class or they may be dropped from the course.

ESY/ELD Information

Extended School Year (ESY):

  • Our Extended School Year program will continue for students who are eligible for ESY through their existing Individualized Education Programs (IEP).  Families will be contacted with additional information.

English Language Learner Options:

  • Learning programs for English Language Learners will continue to be offered in-person during the summer session. Families will be contacted with additional information.

Middle School Math Advancement Program (MAP)

This summer SRVUSD will continue to offer a math advancement option for middle school students.  MAP (Math Advancement Program, previously "Bridge")  will be an entirely online course that will begin on May 18th and end on July 28th.

A parent info virtual meeting was held to explain the details of the middle school math advancement program.  Please click here to view the recording.
