SRVUSD Update 3/16/2020
Posted 3/16/20

Due to the rapidly changing environment, and in light of today’s legal order from both the Governor and the Department of Public Health to shelter-in-place through April 7th, the SRVUSD must once again adjust our plans to meet student needs. Today’s announcement from the Governor will have a significant effect on our students.

We know you have many questions about how the District will handle a variety of situations related to school closures. We are currently waiting on further guidance and direction from both the Governor and the California Department of Education and we are planning for both the short and long term.  We are asking for your continued patience and understanding while we work out all the details in this ever-changing environment.

The most important thing we must do right now is to come together as a community and accept responsibility for the role that each one of us plays in ensuring that we are doing what we can to slow the spread of COVID-19. This includes what the District must do in order to comply with the shelter-in-place mandate. Please take this time in the next hours and days to relax and enjoy your family, reflect on what is truly important including being patient, connecting with family, and staying healthy.

We realize that the uncertainty surrounding what comes next causes concern and worry. It is important to remember that we are not in this alone.  Many states have closed their schools completely. This broad response to a crisis is unprecedented.

Continue to watch your email for communications from the SRVUSD. We also seek your understanding, as we are not in a position to respond to individual inquiries at this time. Our website has a Coronavirus Webpage where you can find resources and District communications. If you are not receiving our emails and want to check the status of your email in our system, please email

We wish you all good health. Stay tuned for more information.
