Update: All SRVUSD Schools Open Friday 10/11/2019
Posted 10/10/19

We would again like to report that all SRVUSD schools have power. All SRVUSD schools will be open tomorrow, Friday, October 11. According to PG&E, there will be no additional shutdowns in our area, for now.

For your information, power was shut off at two of our school sites around midnight -- Golden View and Twin Creeks elementary schools. Power at both schools was restored by 7 a.m.

We know it has been a long week dealing with much uncertainty. We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we all weathered this event together. We are pleased to report that instruction went on without interruption in all SRVUSD schools.

We want to express our gratitude to the members of our community emergency preparedness group -- the San Ramon Valley Citizens Corps Council -- which includes the San Ramon Valley Fire District, City of San Ramon, San Ramon Police, the Town of Danville, Danville Police and Contra Costa County. They have continuously kept our SRVUSD team up-to-date with the latest information and safety concerns.

We also want to thank the many SRVUSD administrators and school site leaders for their ongoing communication throughout this week, as well as our maintenance crews and custodians for all the work they did in preparation for potential power outages. This process demonstrated the tremendous teamwork we have in our district and community.

Finally, thank you to our staff, students and parents for their patience and for all the great questions we received. We look forward to a great Friday and our biggest event of the year this weekend -- The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation’s Run for Education. We hope you join us at one of this weekend’s events in celebration of all the great work going on in our school district.
