SRVUSD Coronavirus Update 3/10/2020
Posted 3/10/20

In light of the concerns surrounding the coronavirus, in conjunction with the County Health Departments, we are constantly evaluating best practices in how to proceed with large gatherings and extra- and co- curricular activities. At this time, we are making these decisions on a day-to-day basis.

Tonight’s extra- and co-curricular activities in the SRVUSD will proceed as planned.  However, in accordance with County recommendations, we are asking families to consider their attendance per the following guidelines:

  • People at higher risk should not attend tonight’s events.

    • People who are 50 years old or older. Current evidence indicates that the risk of severe illness increases with age. The highest risk group are those 80 years and older.

    • People of any age who have underlying medical problems such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or chronic lung diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), as well as those who are immunocompromised.

  • Families should minimize the number of people who attend events. Consider bringing just one parent/guardian and leaving siblings and other relatives/friends at home.

  • Should your family or student choose not to participate, they will be allowed to opt out without penalty.

This unique situation requires flexibility. We thank you for reading our communications, which we will be sending regularly as the situation evolves.
