Summer School 2020 Information

We would like to provide you with an update on Summer School classes for 2020. Our focus this year is to offer enrichment classes for kindergarten through 2nd grade as well as remedial and advancement courses for middle and high school in the following prioritized areas: 

 

K-2 classes Enrichment foundational classes only: Get Ready Get Set for Kindergarten, First Grade Express, and Jump into Second Grade.  All classes will have a math and literacy focus.
Middle School
  • Remedial classes for students in English 6 and 7 and Math 6 and 7.

  • Bridge program for mathematics advancement (Course 2 to Algebra 1 - You will be notified if your child is selected to participate).

High School
  • Remedial courses in English 9, 10 & 11, US History, Algebra 2, Chemistry, and High School General Math.

  • Advancement courses in Art 1, Algebra 1, and  Health/World Geography only

Extended School Year  All services listed on Individual Education Plans (IEPs) which require Extended School Year (ESY) will be provided.
English Language Learner Support
  • English Language Learner support will be provided (You will be notified if your child is selected to participate.)

Elementary:  Location:  Bollinger Canyon Elementary School (K-2)

  • Enrichment classes will be on a first come, first served basis.  
  • The suggested donation amount will be $400 per student.    
  • Elementary classes will be 4 weeks long, Monday, June 8 through Thursday, July 2, 2020.
  • Registration will open on March 23 at 8 a.m.

 

Middle School/High School: Location:  San Ramon Valley High School (6-12)

  • Remedial courses will be offered to students in grades 6-12 to make up a grade. Parents and students should work with their counselors to sign up for these classes.

  • Registration for high school advancement courses opens on February 28 and closes on March 20.  If the interest in these courses exceeds the number of slots, a lottery will be held.  

  • High School and Math Bridge classes will be 6 weeks long, running from Monday, June 8 through Friday, July 17, 2020. 

  • Middle School classes will be 4 weeks long, running from Monday, June 8 through Thursday, July 2, 2020.

 

Extended School Year (ESY)

  • Extended School Year (ESY) will be at Bollinger Canyon Elementary School for students in preschool-grade 5.

  • Extended School Year (ESY) will be at San Ramon Valley High School for students in grades 6-12 and the adult transition program. 

  • Classes will be 4 weeks long, Monday, June 8 through Thursday, July 2, 2020.
