1:10 p.m. Update Iron Horse Middle School
Posted 11/7/19

We want to inform you that we are lifting the lockdown on the Iron Horse Middle School campus at 1:15 p.m. We are pleased to report that no incident took place on the Iron Horse campus today. The Police determined that there is no identified credible threat. The Police will remain on campus for the rest of the day. All students will be dismissed at the regular time.

We want to congratulate the staff and students on their patience and thank them for their cooperation during the lockdown. Additionally, we want to thank the San Ramon Police Department for their work to keep our campuses safe and protected. We also need to acknowledge the numerous district personnel who were on site to help. Thank you to our families for their commitment to supporting us in following protocols to keep the campus safe.

As with all emergency situations, we plan to debrief about the policies and procedures that we employed during today’s lockdown and determine whether we need to make any modifications.

Your students may feel anxious about being kept on lockdown today. The National Association of School Psychologists has some talking points that may help you discuss with your student the importance of today’s precautionary actions.

We want to reiterate that it takes a village to keep our campuses safe. Our policy of “if you see something or know something, say something” is important for everyone to remember.

This investigation is ongoing. If you have information about this incident or any other, you can report it using the anonymous tipline found our website homepage, or call the San Ramon Police at (925) 973-2779.
