Stone Valley Middle School Construction Update 11/14/18

We would like provide you with an update on the Stone Valley Middle School construction project.

On Tuesday, November 13, the SRVUSD Board of Education voted to delegate the authority to terminate the contracts with Vila Construction Company to the Superintendent or his designee. This action will continue to ensure that staff has every possible option available to them in order to ensure a quality product in a timely manner.

The District met with Vila Construction today to discuss the project schedule and timeline. Progress was made and we have set-up another meeting for the week after Thanksgiving. The District remains hopeful that Vila Construction will continue to execute an adequate plan to remedy the delays and other issues on this project, thus avoiding the need for termination of either of the contracts. However, our commitment to protect the taxpayers’ investment in our schools remains our top priority. We will continue to keep the community informed of actions that affect the completion date of the project.

Thank you,

Elizabeth Graswich

Director of Communications & Community Relations
